The entire Harry Potter series has been based off of Christian themes and beliefs, one of which is good vs evil. In this series, Harry, Professor Dumbledore, and many others represent the "Good" side, while Voldemort and the Death Eaters represent the "Evil" side. Harry is faced with many decisions throughout his quests, and each time he makes a choice he does it for the greater good. Harry believes in what he thinks is right, and acts with these values in mind. Love is a very strong theme and is described by Dumbledore very often in the story. Love conquers all is the main message that Dumbledore presents to the Good side of the conflict. The power of love that saved Harry in the very beginning seems to have set the stage on what was to be expected from Harry as the protagonist as the story progressed. Harry learns to even have love for his enemies, which is a very Christ like frame of mind. Essentially, love is the most powerful weapon used by the Good side, and it succeeds just as Dumbledore had believed so strongly.
The Evil side of the conflict power themselves from greed and temptation. Voldemort uses manipulation and power to gain his followers willingly or by force. He encourages hatred toward Muggles and Muggle born wizards, and wreaks havoc on humanity as a whole. Voldemort does not believe in love or forgiveness, and has more of a one sided view on things that happen in the story. It has been suggested that the reason Voldemort did not succeed in his plans was because of his fixed frame of mind, whereas Harry could see Voldemort for what he was, and what he did, and still found it in himself to find forgiveness. Even stated in the later movies, Harry felt pity for Voldemort, and the Evil side of the conflict for being so lost in greed and power, to never experience the most important things in life, like love.
Christian themes are present throughout the entire series, however Good vs. Evil is the most prominent theme, and the most important for story development.
